I CAN 4IR, established by Dr David Molapo, is a dynamic leadership development organisation designed to address critical gaps in leadership across corporate, government, and community sectors. Focused on the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), it provides tailored coaching, strategic training, and innovative development solutions that prepare leaders to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Founded in 2018 by the visionary Dr Molapo, I CAN 4IR was created as a direct response to the urgent need for effective and adaptive leadership. As digital transformation accelerates globally, leaders are being challenged to rethink how they lead, communicate, and manage diverse teams. Recognising this challenge early, Dr Molapo developed a comprehensive framework for empowering leaders to embrace technology, innovation, and ethical responsibility.
Since its inception, I CAN 4IR has made a remarkable impact. With over 2,000 successfully completed projects and more than 9,500 clients served, the organisation has earned widespread recognition and trust in the leadership development space. It offers executive coaching, strategic workshops, and result-driven leadership programs that enhance communication, decision-making, emotional intelligence, and overall performance.
Dr Molapo’s own journey is a story of resilience and transformation. Raised in KwaThema, South Africa, he faced significant obstacles in his youth, including political imprisonment and financial hardship. However, his unwavering belief in education led him to pursue academic excellence. Through a United Nations program, he obtained degrees in Education and Leadership from prestigious institutions in the United States. Upon his return to South Africa, he founded the I Can Leadership Institute Africa and later became the first Black director of Dimension Data Holdings—a groundbreaking milestone.
His experiences in corporate leadership highlighted deep-rooted challenges in leadership capacity across various sectors. These insights fueled the creation of I CAN 4IR. The organisation’s core values—personal empowerment, integrity, tolerance, innovation, and high-quality service—serve as the foundation of every program offered. Beyond skills training, I CAN 4IR focuses on long-term behavioural transformation, ensuring that leaders not only learn but evolve.
The organisation’s services are extensive and forward-thinking. From strategic leadership development and emotional intelligence enhancement to cutting-edge team-building workshops, I CAN 4IR tailors its programs to meet the unique needs of each client. These offerings are closely aligned with the realities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, preparing leaders to navigate new technologies, workforce shifts, and economic change.
A key pillar of the organisation’s mission is upskilling, reskilling, and cross-skilling. Under Dr Molapo’s guidance, leaders are introduced to servant leadership principles, ethical decision-making, and frameworks that cultivate trust, accountability, and social responsibility. These qualities are essential for building sustainable leadership in today’s complex world.
Looking ahead, I CAN 4IR is developing a curriculum focused on the upcoming Fifth Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence. This initiative will engage a wide audience—ranging from early childhood development centres and startups to corporations, government agencies, and non-profit organisations. The aim is to instil leadership values from the ground up while ensuring adaptability to future technological advances.
Dr Molapo attributes the success of I CAN 4IR to its commitment to excellence, contextual understanding, and consistent community outreach. The organisation actively engages with the public through live sessions, digital media, and grassroots programs—bringing the power of leadership to those who need it most.
